SERVICE AREAS
Each mitigation bank operated by Wildlife Mississippi has an established service
area. These areas cover parts of a river basin, delineated by eight-digit
hydrologic units. Buckatunna Creek and Wolf River mitigation banks cover parts
of the Pascagoula River Basin.
Credits may be purchased in a particular bank to offset wetland or stream
impacts occurring within that bank's service area.
Wildlife Mississippi strives to locate its banks along significant river
systems. This allows the organization to contribute to the protection of at-risk
aquatic and terrestrial species.
